Last night the neurosurgeon came to talk to us and informed us that while the operation room is reserved for Izzy's surgery, it might not take place after all, due to some Insurance issue. "We'll see" was the consensus and we prepared for possibly being very disappointed in the morning. To our surprise, the glitch was solved and Izzy was taken away to have the VNS implanted about 20 minutes ago. She is in surgery right now and we are sitting in the parents' lounge with a small lump in our throat. They asked me if it was okay with us if the student nurse observed the surgery and I told them yes, just don't let him touch anything.

Thinking of you all!
I hope everything goes well! I'll be thinking of all of you too...
love and light
I wish her and you well. I am ashamed that our medical insurance system puts you in the position where you feel grateful that she can have this done in the optimal way for her.
She's a sweet, sweet child. The picture of her looking so wise and weary, beyond her years touched me so.
Love to all of you.
Please God, please God, please God!!!
Good morning Erika,
Came here for an update but no news yet... I hope that everything went well and that you have no time updating us since you want to stay with Izzy and be there for her!
Hugs to you and Izzy!
Don't worry everything will work out just fine :)
Sending lots of prayers for Izzy.
